Controlled Testing
Battle reports are most useful when the test changes one important variable at a time. TAUKS uses repeatable evidence to separate real gains from matchup noise and random variation.
QUICK ANSWER
Keep the test conditions stable, then change only the thing you want to measure.
BASEBuild a baseline
Run the same setup several times before changing anything so normal variation is visible.
ONEChange one variable
Swap one ant, one position, one insect, or one development change—not several at once.
COMPARECompare the same metrics
Use the same report fields each time so the result is directly comparable.
TEST SETUP
Hold these conditions constant when possible.
Target or opponent contextUse the same event, target level, or a clearly comparable matchup.
Troop setupKeep troop class, tier, and troop count stable.
Insect and account stateKeep insect, major buffs, and account bonuses unchanged unless one of those is the variable being tested.
Two of three Special AntsWhen testing a replacement, keep the other two ants fixed whenever possible.
Formation positionKeep Front, Middle, and Back assignments stable unless position is the specific variable under test.
REPORT FIELDS
Capture the same evidence every time.
- Three Special Ants and their Front / Middle / Back positions.
- Star level, awakening status, and relevant development differences.
- Troop class, troop tier, and troop count.
- Insect used and any visible major bonuses.
- Skills Used, Skill Damage, Troop Damage, and total damage where available.
- Power loss, survivability, healing, control, or other visible combat effects.
INTERPRETATION RULES
What one report can and cannot prove.
One report can revealSkill-use patterns, obvious damage contribution, visible survivability issues, and possible matchup weaknesses.
One report cannot proveA universal ranking, permanent replacement, overall PvP superiority, or that one position is intrinsically best.
Repeatable PvE/benchmark tests can showStable throughput trends when the conditions are held constant.
PvP reports addMatchup pressure, control, sustain, protection, and formation-interaction evidence that pure damage tests may miss.
TAUKS TESTING RULE
Evidence quality rises with repeatability.
TAUKS should label a result as provisional when it is based on a small sample, mixed conditions, or one unusual matchup. A conclusion becomes stronger when repeated tests point in the same direction under controlled conditions.
GO DEEPER
Use testing to support actual lineup decisions.
WILD BATTLE REPORTS → ASK DOLLY
Turn a report into the next controlled test.
When you have comparable Wild Battle Reports, use the guided Ask Dolly path to identify the weakest slot and choose one account-specific replacement test.
