When several upgrades are available at once, compare them by how much useful account strength they add—not by how new, expensive, or popular they are.

Fix the largest real bottleneck first.

Replace or develop the ant that is preventing the three-ant formation from doing its job.

If all three ants are already functional, troop tier, insect, evolution, or account bonuses may create a larger gain than another ant upgrade.

Do not commit rare resources to an upgrade that cannot be developed far enough to matter.

COMPARE THE OPTIONS

Use this priority order as a decision framework—not a universal ranking.

1. Complete the formationIf a lineup is missing a functional Front, damage source, support, sustain, or control role, solve that first.
2. Raise underdeveloped core antsStars, key skills, and awakening can be more efficient than replacing a proven ant that is already close to the target role.
3. Improve troop and insect supportAccount-wide or march-wide gains can benefit multiple ants and may produce a larger return than a narrow upgrade.
4. Replace only when the new ant is readyA newer ant should enter the main lineup when its current development—not its theoretical ceiling—supports the job.

PFF · HYBRID · PTP

The same bottleneck can justify a different investment path.

PFFPrefer upgrades that remain useful across multiple weeks or seasons and avoid abandoning high-star ants for low-star replacements.
HybridUse selective spending to close one important development gap at a time, especially where a nearly complete lineup is being held back by one weak point.
PTPFaster acquisition can justify earlier replacement, but full formation development still matters more than owning one isolated premium ant.
