SPECIAL ANT LIFE CYCLE · STAGE 2

Should I add stars to this ant?

Stars are an investment decision, not a reward for owning a newer ant. Spend duplicate shells and other scarce resources when the ant has a useful job and the next investment is likely to improve a formation you actually use.

Core rule: prove the role first. Then decide whether the next star is worth the resources.
New S6 progression: All eight skills can reach level 50 before starring. One duplicate ascends Skill 1; a second duplicate is needed to reach 1★. Skill level, Skill 1 Ascension, and star level are separate states.
1

ROLE FIRST

Does this ant have a job?

Before starring, identify the troop class, PvP or PvE purpose, likely Front/Middle/Back position, and the formation it may enter. If there is no useful job yet, hold the resources.

2

COMPARE

Is it better than what you already use?

Bring the candidate to a fair usable comparison state — normally Level 50 when practical — and test it against the developed ant it would replace. Newer season alone is not enough.

3

VALUE

What does the next star actually change?

Look for a meaningful gain: a stronger combat skill, important stat improvement, useful breakpoint, better survivability, control, support, or formation synergy. If the gain is small or unclear, wait.

4

SCARCITY

What else could use these shells?

Duplicate shells and star resources are limited. Compare this upgrade against your other core ants. Concentrating resources on a useful main formation can be more effective than spreading stars across many ants.

5

STABILITY

Will this ant stay in the lineup?

A star investment is easier to justify when the ant has a durable role. Be more cautious when a replacement is already likely, the lineup is still experimental, or the ant is only filling a temporary gap.

6

DECIDE

Star, hold, or test longer

Use repeatable results and account value. Do not spend because a tier list says the ant is strong, because the ant is S6, or because a duplicate shell is available.

BEFORE YOU ADD A STAR

Six questions to answer

THE DECISION

Use one of three outcomes.

STAR

The ant has a useful role, repeatable value, and the next star has a clear purpose.

HOLD

The ant may be useful, but the next star does not justify the scarce resources yet.

TEST LONGER

The role or improvement is still uncertain. Keep the shell until the evidence is better.

Next: Where should I use this ant?

USEFUL, NOT AUTOMATIC

A high-tier ant can still be a poor star investment for your account.

Your existing stars, development, lineup partners, troop focus, and available shells all matter. The useful question is: “What improvement will this next star buy me?”

Exact star breakpoints and costs: where they depend on current game mechanics or a specific ant, we will verify them before presenting them as fixed rules.
